Ranville Churchyard, France.

Ranville Churchyard (not to be confused with the main Ranville War Cemetery) contains 46 idenitifed Britsh casualties from the famous 'Pegasus Bridge' Op. DEADSTICK of 6th June 1944, including (almost certainly) the first casualty of D-Day, Lt. Herbert 'Den' Brotheridge of the 2nd (Airborne) Bn. The Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry.

The cemetery also includes a number of graves of wartime French Commandos from the French Troop of no. 10 (Inter-Allied) Commando, some of whom were only granted authority to be buried there after their wartime colleagues strenuously petitioned the civil authorities for permission.
