St Andrews Parish Church, Cranwell, Lincolnshire.

A 1000 year old churchyard, known to be used by the Vikings and believed to have been the burial place of Ulf Jarl (Earl Ulf), the Viking governor of the region and brother-in-law of King Canute.

The graveyard contains many service graves from RAF Cranwell, and charts the development of the RAF from the Royal Naval Air Service, as RAF Cranwell was Royal Naval Air Station Cranwell prior to the formation of the RAF on 1st April 1918. There are graves from the RNAS days through to modern times. Notable graves are those of Gp Capt Bobby Oxspring, Battle of Britain fighter ace, and Lance Serjeant Charles Bristow GM RE, a native of Cranwell who was awarded the GM whilst working in bomb disposal, which later claimed his life, in WW2.
